Flood Update and Requests

We are praying that you are all well and surviving the Great Flood of 2016. Our continued prayers for safety are with you all. Our school is fine and has no damage from flooding. For any of our students who are able, St. Mary's Parish Hall is a collection site for donations for displaced families. Also, another need is to assist stocking the shelves of the local food banks. We received a call from Sharon Smith, who is with HOPE Ministries. Sheriff Bud Torres and HOPE are sending out an urgent request for non-perishable food items. Because of all the flooding and great need in East Baton Rouge Parish, Pointe Coupeeā€™s Food Bank may not get supplies this month, and if we do, they will be late. Therefore, they are sending out an urgent request for items for our Food Bank here in the Parish. Items should be brought to HOPE Ministries in the Olinde Shopping Center on Olinde Street from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day.
Also, no more items are needed at the Scott Civic Center for evacuees, so they are asking that those donations be stopped. Blessed Mother Teresa urged us to "do small things with great love". We can pray, donate and volunteer at this time to make a huge difference in the lives of others.

Parent Work Weekend

The parent work weekend will be held on Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st (if needed). This is an excellent opportunity for you to tackle service hours before the school year begins! Feel free to bring additional volunteers to double up on the amount of service hours you receive. We ask that you do not bring small children. Students in grades 7-12 are welcome to volunteer for their required student service hours.

Please meet in the Elementary lobby to sign in and sign up for a project/task.

We hope to see you there!

Uniform Sale

As a service to our school families, we are once again organizing a school-wide uniform sale. In order to be successful, we need your help! Please donate any boys or girls pants, jumpers, shorts, tops, sweatshirts, and jackets that are outgrown and in good condition. We will sell them for a very small price with the profits going directly into the classrooms. Please send your donations to school by July 22nd. Our Uniform Sale will be held on Saturday, July 23rd from 10:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m in the school cafeteria. This project will benefit both our classrooms and families. Thank you for your participation!

*This is a great opportunity for service hours! (Set-up 8:00-10:00, Sale 10:00-1:00) In order to receive service hours for donated uniforms, please label the bag with your name AND be sure to add it to your service hour form. Six pieces donated = 1 service hour.
