There are many clubs at our school, but 4-H is one that definitely stands out! The 4-H club at Catholic of Pointe Coupee consists of students in grades 4 through 12. It is then divided into three grade level categories: 1) 4-6 grades, 2) 7-8 grades and 3) 9-12 grades. Officers for each club include president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, reporter, parliamentarian, and community resource development chairman.
Our club is very active in the Junior Leadership Program, which is a parish-wide organization. Students attend monthly meetings, participate in community service projects, and attend shortcourse, which is a statewide four-day camp and competition.
CHS 4-H members have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities. These activities include monthly club meetings, cook-off contests, showing livestock, workbook competition, and finally culminate with Achievement Day. 4-H instills many good qualities in our young people and gives them a respect for nature and what it does for them.
