Alum Spotlight

On January 29, we were blessed to have three of our very own graduates preside over Mass in our school gym.  Most Reverend Bishop Shelton J. Fabre (’81), Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans, Deacon Jamin David (‘00) and Deacon Andrew Merrick (‘99) presided over Mass to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The theme of Catholic Schools Week was Light the Way.  Both deacons shared with the entire school some of their fond memories of Catholic of Pointe Coupee and what brought them to God.

Deacon Merrick and Deacon David are to be ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge.  Father Andrew Merrick’s first mass will be June 1st at St. Mary’s Church at 11:00 a.m. Father Jamin David’s first mass will be June 1st at St. Ann’s Church at 4:00 p.m.
